ONLINE COMPETITIONS FOR ARMY DAY 2018

Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year recognizing Lt.Gen K M CARIAPPA (later Field Marshal) as the first commander-in-chief of the Indian Army taking over from last british Commander in chief of India Gen. Francis Butcher on 15 Jan 1949.
For the Army Day celebrations 2018 the Indian Army has announced various online competitions in two categories i.e below 15 yrs and above 15yrs,with cash prizes of worth 20,000 for first position , 10,000 for second position and 10 prizes each of 1,000 as consolation .The theme for the competition being INDIAN ARMY-SYMBOL OF NATION BUILDING the photographs and pictures can be mailed to - armyday18@gmail.com

I have always believed that the real heroes of the nation are the soldiers of the country who risk their lives for our security. They are the ones who ensure that the people of the country sleep peacefully in their homes at night while they have to be awake and vigilant at the borders in hail or storm and in extreme weather conditions. These heroes are the one who made me idolize them and aspire to be a soldier myself someday. One year ago, I went to Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir for a holiday with my uncle who is an army officer.
